Abstract
he migration of a VM and the attached local NVM Express™ SSDs from one server to a different server does not provide a standard mechanism to guarantee that the information returned to the VM by Admin commands after the migration will be changed due to the different SSDs. This presentation provides an overview of how NVM Express™ is expanding on the Live Migration of an NVM Express™ physical controller and the NVMe-oF Exported NVM Subsystem feature, contained in the NVM Express Base Specification Revision 2.1, to provide a mechanism for the host to manage the returned information in Admin commands such that when a VM is migrated, that VM may not see changes to Admin command returned information.
