Garret Buban

Garret is a Partner Architect in Microsoft Azure Storage. He has been working on storage related technology for the last 30 years. This includes local file systems such as NTFS as well as distributed storage system in Azure. He was the lead architect for Azure's update-in-place storage system that is the foundation for the UltraDisk product offering. He is currently working on converging multiple, disparate upper storage layers onto a common lower layer using a new purpose-built object store and new development framework. Both are technologies being developed within Microsoft.
